| ABOUT SOUTHERN CARBURETTERS
Southern Carburetters started trading in 1974 out of the old stables in Wimbledon Broadway. Over the next 10 years they became a UK Weber dealer and also started selling SU, Zenith and Solex parts to the classic car market. In 1985 the Company was moved to Nelson Trading Estate, Wimbledon, which would be its home for the next 25 years. With the introduction of the Weber direct replacement carburetter, Southern Carburetters quickly became the UK’s leading dealer, something that remains in place today. Solex UK came and went but the classic carburetter market gained pace along with the number of classic cars. SU carburetters continue to be readily available along with a wide selection of SU spares. Over the years, the range of products available from Southern Carburetters expanded: K&N, Pipercross, ITG, Facet, Lucas to name but a few. In 2002, the ownership of Southern Carburetters was taken over by long-time employees Roy McNeill and Steve Fardell. In 2010, they moved the Company to its new location in Crawley which enabled them to expand the reconditioning department, among other things. During this time the range of products expanded to include classic distributors and electronic ignition systems, which can be bought over the counter in Crawley, by telephone or via the on-line shop. Please note prices DO NOT include VAT. 20% VAT is added at 'Checkout' for UK & EU orders. |
